The Safer Seas Service - Surfers Against Sewage

The Safer Seas Service’s (SSS) objective is to alert users, in real-time, when there is an elevated health risk to use a designated bathing water (predominantly covering the UK’s much loved tourist beaches) due to reduced water quality. The service integrates with both water company spill-monitoring sensor systems and state-of-the-art forecasting systems provided by the Environment Agency, Natural Resources Wales and Scottish Environment Protection Agency. The app issues alerts to users in real-time when there are sewage discharges and ’pollution risk warnings following heavy rain or high tides which can wash pollution off agricultural or urban land. Combined with a wealth of supplementary beach information including live marine conditions, surf conditions and tide times, the service acts as one-stop decision making tool for beach lovers and all water users.

Independent filmmakers all over the world now shoot amazing short films using equipment as simple as a single smartphone or DSLR camera. They do however struggle to reach audiences, as YouTube and Vimeo now have over 7 BILLION videos. How on earth do you stand out amongst all that content? Film buffs don’t want to scour YouTube to find content that excites them. Netflix and other streaming services are great, but you don’t always have the time to watch a feature film or binge a show. That’s where the ‘Snack Movie’ or Snoovie comes in. It gives you that streaming experience you love, but within whatever time you have available. Snoovies showcases the most engaging/endearing/thrilling short-form content. Top quality short films, from all nations and in all languages. It also celebrates the filmmakers, asking them to share their life stories, passions and dreams, so viewers get to know the people behind the films. Shout Digital - Great Exhibition of the North App

Shout Digital helped fit the North of England’s biggest event of 2018 in the pockets of thousands of people when we designed, developed and implemented the official Great Exhibition of the North (GEOTN) mobile app to help visitors at the 80-day event discover the exhibits and experiences that were taking place.

The prime functionality of the app was to provide wayfinding for visitors, enabling them to plan their visit in advance, navigate around each of the trails and calculate durational activity.

Shout executed an innovative, engaging mobile app that met the client’s and exhibition visitors’ needs. The delivery was underpinned and supported by a robust discovery phase where the team engaged with a variety of community groups and organisations to validate the approach to the overall customer experience. This was vital to the client to support them in being able to achieve their objectives of building local pride through the region, changing perceptions of the region and delivering a powerful and compelling legacy for the exhibition.

The app supported over 4 million visitors across a three-month period, attracting over 12,000 downloads across both iOS and Android platforms by visitors both nationally and internationally during the period between June – September 2018.

Apadmi is a mobile technology agency – and mobile moves fast. We strive to be restlessly mobile, continually evolving and growing to stay ahead of this fast-moving, exciting industry. This is Apadmi’s 10th year.

And it’s been our year of strongest growth. We’ve grown in every way; more clients, bigger projects, more innovative solutions, more awards, more office space, more partners and – most importantly – more team members. We’ve nearly doubled the size of the team this year. 

Our definition of mobile has grown too. We’re now delivering solutions for voice, using AI, facial analysis and location services, as well as the mobile apps that are at our core. This year we delivered our most innovative app to date for SailGP.
